Heat Transfer Rollers

In essence, these technical rollers all serve a similar purpose: to transfer heat energy onto or away from a web. Heat transfer rollers find applications in various industries today, notably in plastic extrusion lines and web converting processes. The primary criteria revolve around achieving minimal temperature variation and deflection on the roll body, depending on the demands of the machine and the purpose of the roller.

At our company, we employ advanced design techniques using CAD and simulate roller behavior using CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) software, ensuring that we tailor our designs to work optimally under actual conditions. Our approach takes into account both thermodynamic and mechanical factors, such as wall thickness, spiral baffles for passages, web material, wrapping angle, speed, roll Heat Transfer Rollers position, load, fluid flow media (including water, thermal oil, and steam), flow rate, flow pressure, balance, allowable bending, and flow type (such as monoflow, duoflow, or counter flow)

Our ultimate goal is to achieve maximum efficiency, which entails balancing the heat transfer coefficient with a reasonable pressure drop through the roll. A welldesigned roll starts with accurate operating data, allowing us to design the roller with the correct internal fluid path, optimize turbulence and maximize heat transfer performance. As a result, we can ensure a maximum temperature variance of ±1°C on the roller surface.

• Whether you require mono or duo flow, single or double shell, straight or counter flow configurations, we have the capability to design rollers according the to your specific requirements.

• Our standard for advanced temperature modification is our double-shell, spiralbaffle design. While components and finishes may vary from roll to roll, most of our double-shell rollers are compatible with either mono-flow or duo-flow setups.

Our thermal analysis process employs advanced modeling techniques to ensure uniform temperatures across the body of the rollers. By doing so, we effectively minimize the pressure drop, optimize performance, reduce wastage of time and lower maintenance costs. This approach allows us to accurately observe the behaviour of rollers under real working conditions, enabling us to make informed decisions and enhancements for optimal efficiency and reliability.
